Flowhold

Flowhold is a San Diego jiu-jitsu and MMA brand founded by Noah Oliver while he was completing his MBA at the University of San Diego. Oliver started martial arts at 16 and later served for six years as a U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. In March 2022, he received his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from Jocko Willink and Dean Lister.

The brand grew from Oliver’s involvement in grappling and surfing. Flowhold describes its identity as a meeting point between Southern California grappling and surf culture, a connection that shapes its graphics, tone, and approach to design. Jiu-jitsu is treated as part of a wider local culture rather than only as a competition category.

That San Diego perspective is the clearest way to distinguish Flowhold: it is a founder-led BJJ label with roots in the training room and a visual identity informed by the communities around the mats and the water.
