About Hyperfly

Hyperfly is a U.S.-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and lifestyle brand that has grown into one of the most recognizable names in the sport since its founding. Built around the powerful motto “You Can’t Teach Heart,” Hyperfly positions itself not only as a provider of premium training equipment but also as a cultural force within the global grappling community. The brand produces a wide range of products including competition gis, lightweight travel kimonos, rash guards, compression sets, shorts, and an extensive line of streetwear. Its apparel often carries bold visual design elements and motivational slogans that reflect the mindset of perseverance and individuality.

What sets Hyperfly apart is its commitment to combining technical quality with a strong cultural identity. Their gis are known for modern cuts, durable weaves, and stylish embroidery, which makes them popular among both hobbyists and elite competitors. Beyond equipment, Hyperfly collaborates with athletes, artists, and organizations to produce limited collections that merge sport, fashion, and social awareness. These collaborations reinforce the brand’s image as more than just gear — it represents a lifestyle choice and a community of practitioners who embrace resilience and authenticity.

Hyperfly’s influence extends far beyond the mats. By actively engaging in social projects, athlete sponsorships, and creative partnerships, the brand has become a symbol of passion-driven innovation. Today, it stands as a premium choice for grapplers worldwide, balancing high performance with cultural relevance, and continues to shape the identity of modern Jiu-Jitsu culture.

Yeah totally, whereas my hyperfly gi has been washed at 60 degrees and barely shrank at all. My Tatami gis on the other were washed at 40 and shrank about 15-20%. I've had to give away all of my Tatami gis, where as my hyperfly and 12 year old Venum gi are still going strong 😂

I love my Hyperfly Icon shorts but they are damned expensive.

If you don’t mind carrying a backpack, HyperFly jet bag was pretty awesome. Unfortunately, for me, my back has been killing me lately when carrying for long rides so I went with the Kriega US 20 to mount to the bike. Done a few trips around SoCal to friends gyms, and this has been easier on my back carrying a GI, towel, water, etc.

Hyperfly, Inverted Gear, & Fuji have been some of my favorites. Good mobility but don't come loose in training.

I have 2 Fuji’s, 1 gold BJJ , and 1 hyper fly . They’re all pretty good. The gold and hyper fly are maybe a little more premium , they have like vented armpit fabric. But all solid

My Kingz ultralight 2 is probably my best Gi. My hyperfly flora is probably my favorite. The worst Gi I ever owned was 93 brand and I've had a Gi from easily 10 different brands

Gold has a good ultralight gi (aero weave) I use for travel, but you won’t be able to use it at an ibjjf comp. I believe you can use for other smaller comps like Grappling Industries, but double check that. If you’re looking for a light ibjjf comp gi hyperfly’s hyperlyte model is good, but the last few years their sizing has been really wonky. Kingz is a little stretchy and that can be a little problematic when it’s soaked in sweat. Personally my first gi was a Fuji sekai and it was a great all arounder. My current go to now is VHTS, but they’re expensive and sell out of my size fast.

I think hyperflys slogan is a bit cringe, but I've had one of their hyperlite gis for years and its still holding up.

I used to only buy hyperfly (I bought like 5 gi from them) but after I sent them photos of shoddy stitching and patches coming off a new 3.5 I bought last year they basically said, "well the stitching can't be expected to be perfect, as for the patch coming off and shredding apart, we cant send you more of those pants so we can give you a coupon." Really turned me off from them. That, they frequently sent coupons that didn't work, and they tend to have stuff out of stock.
