I have a similar build. I much prefer the lighter Gis. You won’t go wrong with what you are looking at. One option is Kingz (A3L): They seem to cater to lanky and athletic builds. Models like the Kingz Ultra Lite or Kingz Nano offer an A3L size that gives you the necessary length without extra chest/torso bulk.

Tatami is the Toyota of Gis, affordable and reliable. All my Tatami Gis from over the years still hold up. If you’re in the US though, the new shipping and tariff sucks. Elite on Amazon is okay. Kingz is good and pretty affordable.

My Kingz ultralight 2 is probably my best Gi. My hyperfly flora is probably my favorite. The worst Gi I ever owned was 93 brand and I've had a Gi from easily 10 different brands

Gold has a good ultralight gi (aero weave) I use for travel, but you won’t be able to use it at an ibjjf comp. I believe you can use for other smaller comps like Grappling Industries, but double check that. If you’re looking for a light ibjjf comp gi hyperfly’s hyperlyte model is good, but the last few years their sizing has been really wonky. Kingz is a little stretchy and that can be a little problematic when it’s soaked in sweat. Personally my first gi was a Fuji sekai and it was a great all arounder. My current go to now is VHTS, but they’re expensive and sell out of my size fast.

I've had 2 kingz ultra lights that both ripped within the first 18 months with light comp only use.  Vs my generic no name gi I've had for over 10 years and my Koral which had heavy use.

Kingz has my current favorite stuff. I love Origin too but they are more pricey. Great company to support though. The more stuff I buy from them the more I find myself training in it.

Personally a huge fan of the Kingz and Orgin, I think Kingz is marginally more affordable and may hold up a little longer, but Orgin has always had really good quality for the products i've purchased.
