About PHANTHUM
Cancer treatment ended the PHANTHUM founder’s plans to return to competition. The independent brand from Ostend, Belgium, became another way for him to stay connected to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by making equipment for athletes who could still train and compete. PHANTHUM produces limited-edition rashguards, grappling shorts, and gi patches. Early releases used anime-inspired artwork; later collections mix Japanese graphics, motorsport references, hand-drawn illustration, and PAW, the brand’s scarred cat mascot. Drops are made in limited batches and are not restocked after selling out. The rashguards use dye-sublimated graphics, flatlock stitching, moisture-wicking fabric, breathable underarm panels, and anti-slip grippers. PHANTHUM remains a small founder-run operation focused on adult no-gi gear rather than gis, kids’ equipment, or permanently stocked academy basics.
