About 93 Brand Jiu Jitsu

93 Brand Jiu Jitsu is a New York–based company recognized for producing durable, functional, and creative gear for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners. The name “93 Brand” pays tribute to 1993, the year BJJ first reached wide exposure in the United States with the inaugural UFC event, where Royce Gracie demonstrated the effectiveness of jiu-jitsu to a global audience.

From its early days, 93 Brand set itself apart by combining rugged construction with design details that reflect both the culture and humor of the sport. The company offers a wide product range that includes BJJ gis, rashguards, grappling shorts, spats, and a variety of apparel for training and daily wear. Many gis are built with reinforced stitching, lightweight but durable fabrics, and thoughtful tailoring aimed at balancing performance and comfort. The no-gi line often features bold graphics and collaborations, giving athletes options that are both functional and visually distinctive.

The brand has also gained attention for its limited-run drops and creative marketing, often releasing gear with unique themes and artwork that resonate strongly with the BJJ community. In addition to adult sizes, 93 Brand produces women’s and kids’ options, making its catalog accessible to practitioners across different age groups and experience levels.

With its roots in the USA and a reputation for consistency, 93 Brand continues to appeal to grapplers who want reliable gear without losing a sense of individuality. Its mix of high quality, community connection, and creative design has made it a staple name within the modern jiu-jitsu scene.

Fix it AND buy an new gi.  If it starting break down you are going to end up with more tears.  Three years is a pretty decent run for a gi that seems to be your only one.  I have worn essentially every maker out there.  Personally I think Origin makes the best gis on the market but they are pricey.  Keep an eye on bjjhq.com for good deals. You can get 93 Brand Standard Issue for a good price and those are probably my favorite budget gi.  Inverted also makes a great gi that is sort of right in the middle price-wise. I think they are also running a pre-order deal on their plain ones right now.

My Kingz ultralight 2 is probably my best Gi. My hyperfly flora is probably my favorite. The worst Gi I ever owned was 93 brand and I've had a Gi from easily 10 different brands

I've used Under Armour, Venum, and 93Brand. I'm partial to 93Brand especially because of the price to quality ratio

roll up mats are great. i have 10x10 of the 93brand lightweight ones that always go up on BJJHQ, and I spent maybe $410 total for them? if the inflatable mats were like 50 bucks, i would say go for it… far more convenient for drilling at home or light rolling. but for $200, you would be better off with actual roll outs that cost around the same amount lol. even a single 5x10 is sufficient for solo stuff.

I love my elite shorts. Complete it with catching a 93 brand 2 pack of tops on sale at bjjhq. You could also just get the 93 brand 2 pack of shorts, but they're not as good a deal as the elite
